Skywire is currently looking for Sr. NOC Engineer for their NOC (Network Operations Center). This role will support Skywire’s Network, including but not limited to overseeing all Change Management activity, Network Management Systems, Chronic Reviews, and Post-Mortem RCA efforts. This role will also be responsible for supporting and training the NOC Technician Team and their customers.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Support the NOC Technician team with overflow support. The Sr. NOC Engineer must be able to perform the same tasks and responsibilities as NOC Technicians.

· Serve as the technical escalation point for NOC Technicians. Provide advanced level support to the NOC Technician Team and their customer(s) when required.

· Develop and implement training documentation and provide hands on training to the NOC Technician team

· Daily Network Monitoring and Alarm Administration. Using our NMS, identify network faults and initiate the restoration process. Provide daily outage reports to Internal Groups and Management with progress updates.

· Sr NOC Engineers are the NMS Lead for NOC Operations. Work with Engineering to implement policies intended to streamline and improve network surveillance and monitoring. Ensure SNMP functionality is operating properly.

· External Change Management oversight. This role is responsible for fielding partner carrier/vendor maintenance notifications, assessing network and customer impact, sending notifications to all stakeholders, and making prudent business decisions based on the variables.

· Internal Change Management Lead – create, administer, and execute Internal Change Management events stemming from Network Impairments. Ensure Network redundancy is maintained when scheduling an event, send notifications to all stakeholders, and make prudent business decisions based on the variables.

· Technical Control Advisory Board - serves as a decision-making body responsible for evaluating and endorsing network modifications originating outside of the NOC. The primary objective is to facilitate smooth transitions and minimize disruptions.

· Chronic Issue Investigation and Analysis

· Engage Equipment Vendor TAC groups for support when warranted

· Service Assurance – investigate and mitigate network defects that do not have an apparent and immediate fix

· Post-Mortem Analysis and RFO creation & distribution

· Maintain a working knowledge of network monitoring tools and automation.


Job Requirements & Skills:

· Positive attitude and strong work ethic conducive to working as part of a team.

· Detailed Oriented with excellent oral and written communication skills

· Hands-on experience with routers, switches, hubs, bridges, RF Design, etc. ideally within a multi-site environment.

· Experience working in an NMS environment for a Network Service provider, with Solarwinds experience being a plus

· Experience with or knowledge of most of the following: MPLS, TCP/IP, Radius, BGP, OSPF, RSTP, SNMP, PPPoE, Packets, and SIP.

·Experience with the troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance of Network Infrastructure with a strong focus on Juniper devices and Juniper Networks technologies.

· Current or relevant experience with Windows Server Administration including knowledge or experience with DNS and DHCP

· Demonstrate knowledge and experience using Juniper EX, MX, ACX, and SRX equipment in a metro-ethernet environment.

· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
